Chocolate, Walnut & Date Truffles
Guilt free chocolate treat!
These truffles are absolutely divine! I made these for a friends birthday. They don’t just look nice, they taste lovely with a little hint of orange in them. Their sweetness comes from the dates and of course they do not contain any added sugar!
Zest of 1 Orange
100g good quality dark chocolate (I used 80%)
I made 22 truffles with these quantities.
Whizz the Walnuts in a food processor, set aside.
Put the dates and orange zest in the food processor and whizz together until you get a smooth paste.
Reserve 2 tbsp of the walnuts for later and add the rest to the food processor and whizz with the dates until combined.
With wet hands roll the mixture into balls and chill in the fridge for 15min.
Meanwhile melt the dark chocolate.
Line a baking tray with baking paper.
With a cocktail stick dip every ball into the melted chocolate and make sure you get an even coating all round.
Let the excess chocolate run off the ball before putting it on the baking tray.
Sprinkle the reserved Walnut pieces over the truffles.
Chill in the fridge until the chocolate is set.
Nutritional info (22 balls)
