Energy Balls without any added sugar.
Only 3 ingredients, quick and easy to make.
Much healthier pick me up in the afternoon than a chocolate bar or bag of sweets, they feel like a real treat!
The original recipe is from the September issue of the Healthy Food Guide and states this makes 24 balls. I made them a bit smaller and didn’t use as many dates as I didn’t have enough (I used 430g) and I made 40 balls out of the mixture.
500g pitted dates
100g cocoa powder (best quality you can afford)
100g dessicated coconut
Add the dates, cocoa and 75g dessicated coconut to a food processor with 1-2 tablespoons of boiling water and blitz until smooth.
Next roll little balls out of the mixture and then roll in the left over dessicated coconut.
Chill the balls for 20min or until ready to eat.
